Day 3 - Preparing for The Hajj

  •  After sunset, mass proceeds to Muzdalifah where pilgrims pray and collect a number of pebbles which they use to cast at white pillars. The reason for this, is that Pilgrims will remember the Story of Satan and his attempt to persuade Abraham to pay no attention to God’s command on sacrificing his son. Throwing of the pebbles is symbolic in a way where pilgrims rebuke evil seven times. It is seven because seven represents infinity.

Day Two

On day two, Pilgrims leave Mina for “Arafat for the wuquf” also known as “the standing”. Standing here reminds pilgrims of the Day of Judgment. Some will gather at Mount of Mercy where Pilgrims spend charged hours in worship and supplication, asking God for forgiveness.
